Hello,
i bought this nice coin a while ago. After i recieved it, ive seen some things that shouldnt be there. Now i have the question: Is this coin overstruck??? If yes, would you have an idea on what? and if not, how could this have been made?

Thank you in advance and with kind regards from Montjoie

Hi Frederik,
Perhaps an older coin instead of a blank was used to strike this coin.

Hi Rob,
yes that is what I meant. Is there a way to find out wich one it was? Or should I just wait for luck to find out?
Kind regards
Frederik

Effects as those are not uncommon in these coins.
It might just as well be:
- (local) wear of the die
- non-uniformity of the blank
- corrosion

Even if it was an overstrike, the imperfections are too blurry to find out which coin was used.

Greetings, pierre.
PS: This saturday, I will have a look into my own coins. I hope to show you a nice example...

Hello pierre,
thanx for the informations you gave. Corrosion might have damaged the flat part on the coin, but i am not sure about the 'letter-pieces' behind the struck letters. But well... I like the coin as it is!

With kind regards
Frederik

By the way, this is not an 'oord' as mentionned beneath the scans, but a 'duit'
